Price Returning to Sides Motorsports for First Full Season With World of Outlaws
Inside Line Promotions - BARTLETT, Tenn. (Dec. 28, 2022) - Robbie Price will be back in the Sides Motorsports No. 7s in 2023.
It will mark Price's first full season with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. Price joined Sides Motorsports in the spring of 2022 and finished out the season after car owner Jason Sides was sidelined because of knee and hip problems.
"I'm really excited for it," Price said. "It's been a while since someone from the Northwest has been out on the tour. I want to be able to run a full deal and nobody from where I'm from has run the tour let alone 90 percent of the tracks we go to. I've always wanted to run the Outlaws deal. That's something I can put on my list of achievements."
Price highlighted the 2022 season with fifth-place outings at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., and at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash. He also made the dash a handful of times and found better consistency toward the end of the season.
"Seat time is the biggest thing and is one thing that is the hardest thing to get," Price said. "I had a lot of fun last year and I felt we had some decent runs. I'm hoping starting off the year we can keep our momentum going from last year. Getting better on the big tracks and focusing on running well on the smaller tracks, which is more of my wheelhouse, are goals of mine."
Sides is also aiming to compete in select races throughout the 2023 season.
"We're excited to have Robbie back with the team and look forward to him taking another step forward as we return to some tracks where he saw for the first time last year," he said. "It's tough to show up to a new track and be competitive right off the bat with the World of Outlaws. I think we saw improvement on some of the tracks we went to a second or third time last year compared to his debut. We're both eyeing that continued development next season.
"As for me, it's been tough being out of the seat since May. I'm not planning on running full time next year, but will be racing in some events. I'm excited for this role as a car owner watching an up-and-coming driver in Robbie embark upon his first full season with the Outlaws and then getting to log some laps on my own every now and again."
The 2023 season begins for Sides Motorsports at the famed DIRTcar Nationals in Barberville, Fla., in February.

Sides Motorsports Garners Two Top Fives and Crew Chief of the Year Award During ‘Different’ Season
Inside Line Promotions – BARTLETT, Tenn. (Nov. 14, 2022) – A pair of top-five finishes highlighted the season for Sides Motorsports.
The team featured a different year of sorts as owner and driver Jason Sides needed to vacate the drivers seat early in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season because of hip and knee problems. Tim Shaffer drove for a weekend before Robbie Price was tabbed as the full-time driver for the remainder of the World of Outlaws season beginning in May.
“It was certainly different being on the other side of it for most of the season,” Sides said. “When you’re used to going up and down the road, pulling into the race tracks and then racing that night it’s difficult to not get to do that last piece. Health-wise I needed to sit out and Robbie did a good job for us this year. It’s not easy to just jump on the World of Outlaws trail and produce competitive results, especially consistently.
“For taking Robbie and throwing him to the wolves like we did, just to be able to show him the ropes and get him used to different places, I think he did all right. He had a couple of really good runs and could have had a few more that just didn’t go right. Even the places we went back to a second time he got better at. There’s so many places that we go to that other people don’t race at. It’s difficult.”
Price posted fifth-place runs at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., and at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash.
“I felt like we made a bunch of gains,” he said. “The first month I was out on the road I was struggling to make shows. Then I started locking in through the B Main and then through heat races toward the end. I’ve learned a lot and grown as a driver. There’s things I can tell looking at video where I’ve learned stuff and gotten better.
“The two top fives were the highlight. I was in the dash three times I believe. I feel I can run up front given the right circumstances. I have to get better at putting myself in those circumstances.”
Also of note, Sides was honored during the season finale as the World of Outlaws Crew Chief of the Year Award winner.
“I feel like somebody else didn’t want it so they gave it to me,” he joked. “It was a shock to me. It was pretty neat.”
Sides is planning on having surgery on a hip this offseason with the hope to be able to return to action at some level in 2023.
“I don’t know yet what next year holds,” he said. “I want to thank all of the sponsors who stuck with us through all this change. They put a lot of sponsorship toward me. We put a different driver in and they still stuck with us. We have a lot of great people who support us and we’re grateful.”

Price Closes Season With Sides Motorsports by Learning Throughout World of Outlaws World Finals
Inside Line Promotions – CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 7, 2022) – Sides Motorsports driver Robbie Price soaked up the environment during his first-ever World of Outlaws World Finals experience.
The three-race event at The Dirt Track at Charlotte capped the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season as well as the campaign with Price behind the wheel of the No. 7s after team owner Jason Sides elected to temporarily leave the driver’s seat because of hip and knee problems.
“I made a couple of mistakes, but besides that I felt fairly comfortable all weekend,” Price said. “I like the place. It’s fun for sure. Looking back I’d do some things differently. There were 50-plus drivers and everyone was really good so you have to be strong from the start to be a contender.”
Price qualified in the top 15 in his group last Wednesday and Friday. Both nights ended with a trip into the Last Chance Showdown before the team used a provisional to advance into the main event. Price finished 22nd on Wednesday and 25th on Friday.
Saturday’s finale started on a good note as Price hustled from ninth to sixth place in a heat race. A DNF in the Last Chance Showdown forced the team to use a provisional to make the feature. Price gained a trio of positions in the race to finish a weekend-best 20th.
“We just struggled for speed to be honest,” he said. “We qualified 12th and 13th. I felt we were a little bit better. In the heat races we were a spot or two out a couple of times and in the other one I got a bad start.
“The final night I felt decent in our heat race. Even in the A Main I felt okay, but the track rubbered up. Overall, we just couldn’t pass cars. Car-wise we were close and I think going back our results would be a bit better.”

Sides Motorsports Heading to Season-Ending World of Outlaws World Finals Next Week
Inside Line Promotions - MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 26, 2022) - Robbie Price will make his debut at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in one week.
The Sides Motorsports driver is excited to be a part of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season finale, which runs next Wednesday through Saturday at the oval in Concord, N.C.
"I'm excited," he said. "Everybody says it's a cool event. As far as expectations I'm not too sure. In all the videos I've watched the track is slick and slow. That hasn't been my strong suit lately. I'm going into it open minded."
Price has gained a lot of experience invading tracks for the first time this season since he joined Sides Motorsports in the spring when team owner Jason Sides needed to take time out of the driver's seat because of hip and knee injuries.
"We've gone to some places for the first time where I've felt comfortable right away and gone to places I've been before and ran terrible," Price said. "Hopefully it just clicks and I can make decent laps at the beginning of each night to make the rest of the night way easier on myself."
Thus far it has been a successful partnership as Price has posted a pair of top-five results to highlight his first season as a regular World of Outlaws competitor.
"I'm going to try to do the best I can at World Finals," he said. "It's a long, but short winter. I don't want to run terrible and dwell on it the whole time."

Sides Motorsports and Price Tackling Williams Grove National Open This Saturday
Inside Line Promotions – KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Oct. 17, 2022) – The penultimate event of the season for Sides Motorsports driver Robbie Price is this Saturday when Williams Grove Speedway hosts the Champion Racing Oil National Open.
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event at the half-mile oval in Mechanicsburg, Pa., was postponed from earlier this month because of inclement weather.
“Hopefully we can put it in the show,” Price said. “I don’t have many laps at that track and it’s certainly one that times time to figure out. I’m looking forward to getting more experience there this weekend and hopefully a solid result.”
The team is coming off a pair of 20th-place finishes with the World of Outlaws last weekend in the Midwest.
Price qualified 14th quickest in his group on Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. He gained a position to finish sixth in a heat race before securing the fourth-and-final lock-in position into the feature during the Last Chance Showdown. Price gained a handful of positions in the A Main to end 20th.
“On Friday we went out late in qualifying and I didn’t lay down as good of a lap as I needed to and then we were one spot out in the heat race,” he said. “We made it through the LCS, but didn’t have the balance in the A Main.”
The weekend concluded on Saturday at Lakeside Speedway with the Lakeside Speedway Showdown presented by Micro-Lite. Price timed in 24th overall after the team had to change an engine following hot laps. He locked directly into the feature by advancing from sixth to fifth place in a heat race. The night ended with a 20th-place finish in the feature.
“The second night we missed our qualifying deal because of the engine change so we had to go at the end and only got one lap,” he said. “We didn’t qualify where we needed to and we were buried. In the A Main we struggled with the fuel in the car and how I drove the race. It wasn’t a terrible night, but it was a struggle.”

Sides Motorsports and Price Improve During Return to Port Royal Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2022) – Sides Motorsports driver Robbie Price took a step forward last weekend during the Nittany Showdown at Port Royal Speedway.
Price struggled during his debut at the half-mile track earlier this season, but improved his results and level of comfort during World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series starts on Friday and Saturday.
“It wasn’t too bad and was better than I expected,” he said. “We learned the last time we were there plus we’ve run a lot more half-mile stuff since then.”
Price qualified 12th quickest in his group on Friday before he advanced from sixth to fifth in a heat race, locking him into the main event. He placed 24th in the feature.
Saturday started out similar as Price timed in 11th quickest in his group. He ended sixth in a heat race to miss a spot in the A Main by only one position. That relegated him to the Last Chance Showdown, in which a fourth-place run earned a transfer into the back of the main event.
“We qualified decent both nights in our flight,” he said. “The first night in the heat race went a little better. The second night me and Kasey (Kahne) were racing hard and he got the upper hand. But in the LCS I felt pretty good.
“It took me a while to get comfortable in the A Main both nights. I just have to learn how to race in the dirty air better. I think that comes with experience so it was valuable to get feature laps both nights at Port Royal.”
Price gained a pair of positions to finish a career-best 21st on Saturday.
Up next for the team are races Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., and Saturday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., for the Lakeside Speedway Showdown presented by Micro-Lite.
“I think I’ve been to both tracks for 360 races,” Price said. “I’ve ran well at Lakeside. It’ll be a different challenge this weekend with it being Outlaws races though so hopefully we can start off strong each night.”

Price and Sides Motorsports Aiming for Step Forward at Port Royal Speedway This Weekend
Inside Line Promotions – BARTLETT, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2022) – There’s only one month remaining in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season and Sides Motorsports driver Robbie Price is focusing on ending on a positive note.
The next event is this Friday and Saturday when Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., hosts the Nittany Showdown. Price made his debut at the half-mile oval in July.
“I got my butt kicked,” he quipped. “I’ve gotten better on the bigger tracks since then so I think this weekend will go better.”
Price has shown improvement throughout this season behind the wheel of the No. 7s, evident with a pair of top-five finishes along with stronger qualifying efforts and locking directly into the feature through heat race action on a more consistent basis.
“It took a bit for us to get rolling, but I feel like we’ve improved and have done a better job,” Price said. “It takes a complete night from start to finish to put yourself in a position to earn good results with the World of Outlaws. We’ve gotten more consistent throughout the summer and now into the fall. Hopefully we can continue that trajectory throughout the final few races of the season.”
There are seven races remaining on the 2022 schedule, including the two this weekend, at five different tracks in four states.

Price Guides Sides Motorsports to Second-Most Positions Gained at Sharon Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – HARTFORD, Ohio (Sept. 26, 2022) – Robbie Price passed the second-most cars last Saturday during his debut at Sharon Speedway to highlight a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series weekend in Ohio.
The Sides Motorsports driver timed in 20th quickest and placed sixth in a heat race before advancing from fifth to fourth place in the Last Chance Showdown to garner the final transfer into the A Main.
“We were decent at Sharon,” he said. “The last hot lap session I watched everyone was through the center to the middle of the track so that’s where I qualified, but it was up against the wall so we dug ourselves a hole. We were close in the heat race and made it through the LCS.
“I felt pretty good in the feature, but we went down a lap. I didn’t feel bad, but when you go down a lap early you’re just out there and trying not to be in the way of the leaders. It was good to get laps on a track that slick.”
Price rallied from 24th to 17th in the feature.
The weekend began the previous night at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, which hosted the BeFour the Crowns Showdown. Price timed in 12th quickest in his group and finished sixth in both a heat race and the Last Chance Showdown to narrowly miss transferring into the feature. The team used a provisional to tag the back of the field in the A Main.
“We were one spot out of the heat race and in the LCS it took me too long to get going,” he said. “We changed some stuff on the car for the feature. We were snug and I drove around the bottom for a long time. We passed some cars and got up to around 17th. On a restart someone got sideways and I got into them. I ended up just pulling in after that.”
Price had advanced from 25th to 17th before the incident, which relegated him to a 21st-place result.
Next up for the team is the Champion Racing Oil National Open this Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
“I want to do better than I did the last time I was there,” Price said. “I think I was two spots out of a transfer last time so if I can run better earlier in the night than last time I’ll be happy. It’s a track that takes time to get good at so we’re just trying to get better each time we go there.”
QUICK RESULTS –
Sept. 23 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 12; Heat race: 6 (6); B Main: 6 (6); Feature: 21 (25).

Sides Motorsports and Price Take Positive From California Swing
Inside Line Promotions - HANFORD, Calif. (Sept. 19, 2022) - A pair of top-five qualifying runs highlighted the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series swing through California for Sides Motorsports driver Robbie Price.
Price guided the No. 7s to the fifth quickest qualifying time a week ago Friday during a preliminary night of the Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. A run from fifth to fourth place in a heat race advanced Price into the A Main.
"We were really good and I messed up in the main event, which ruined the weekend to be honest," he said. "Jacob Allen passed me on the bottom. I knew I had to beat Jacob or the No. 57 to lock into Saturday's A Main. I went to the bottom and ran a couple of laps. After a restart I spun out going into turn three. I restarted at the back and finished 17th .
"That set us back deep in points for Saturday. That put me 26th in points instead of fifth or sixth. We were in the first heat race and the track was locked down. It was hard to make anything happen. When you mess up and then have to race early the next night it's hard to overcome."
The Gold Cup Race of Champions finale ended in the C Main for Price.
He rebounded last Saturday at Keller Auto Speedway, which hosted the Tom Tarlton Classic. Price qualified fourth quickest and earned a second-place result in a heat race to advance into the dash.
"We were good in qualifying and in the heat race were good enough," he said. "In the dash I drew the back row and wasn't able to do anything. In the main I wasn't terrible, but on a restart I didn't commit to the top the way I should have. I got hung in the middle and passed by a couple of guys. Me and another guy got together, which put a hole in a tire. We had to come in and change that. From there it was ride around the remaining 10 laps out before we hit the road."
Price battled for a top 10 early before the flat tire. The team changed the tire in the work area and Price returned to the track at the back of the pack. He rallied for a 17th-place finish.
Next up is a return to Ohio for races this Friday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg and Saturday at Sharon Speedway in Hartford.
"I'm excited," he said. "In order to get better at those places I need to run them. We went home from I'm from and we had some good runs the last few weeks. I'm confident I can do it with the World of Outlaws. It takes laps to do it at places like where we are racing this weekend."

Sides Motorsports’ Price Ties Career-Best World of Outlaws Run With Top Five at Skagit Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – ELMA, Wash. (Sept. 7, 2022) – Robbie Price tied his career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result behind the wheel of the Sides Motorsports No. 7s last Saturday.
Price posted a fifth-place performance at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., during the final night of the three-race Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals.
“The weekend wasn’t bad,” he said. “The first couple of nights were okay and the last night in Elma wasn’t great, but there was one really good night. The track wasn’t the way it’s ever been at Skagit. It’s definitely different. I think there’s potential to be there though.”
Price qualified fifth quickest before a runner-up outing in a heat race advanced him into the dash. He gained two positions in the race to finish sixth, giving him the sixth starting spot in the A Main.
“The last night at Skagit we drew well and qualified good and made the dash,” he said. “The way it was all weekend if you qualified decent then it made the night a lot easier. In the feature I got to fifth right away and we were decent. We got to traffic and I thought I might have had something for fourth. I moved around a bit and I don’t know if it hurt or helped, but another top five was great.”
Price kicked off the weekend on Thursday when he timed in 16th quickest before picking up a position to finish third in a heat race and 11th in the A Main. Friday’s action featured Price qualifying 19th quickest and placing fifth in a heat race to lock into the feature. He capped the night by hustling from 19th to 12th – tied for the second-most positions gained.
The holiday weekend concluded on Monday at Grays Harbor Raceway, where Price qualified sixth quickest before ending sixth in a heat race and 21st in the feature following involvement in an early crash.
“We qualified good, but we struggled in the heat race and that kind messed up our whole night,” he said. “It was cool to see everybody at home last weekend. That was fun.”
The team plans to race this Friday and Saturday at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., during the Gold Cup Race of Champions with the World of Outlaws.

Sides Motorsports’ Price Scores First Career Top Five With World of Outlaws
Inside Line Promotions – WEST FARGO, N.D. (Aug. 29, 2022) – Sides Motorsports driver Robbie Price earned his first career top-five finish with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series last Saturday at Red River Valley Speedway.
It marked the team’s first top five with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ since July 2, 2021.
“It was nice to have a good run,” Price said. “We’ve been good early on a couple of nights, but not able to do anything in the main event. It was great to have a top five throughout the night and have the result at the end.”
Price qualified eighth quickest and advanced from third to second place in a heat race to make the dash. He finished where he started – fifth – in the dash to line up on the inside of the third row in the Duel in the Dakotas feature.
“We put it in the dash, which was big,” he said. “I ran fourth most of the main event. (David) Gravel got by me on the last restart so that dropped us to a fifth-place finish. The track was fast all night so we needed to make the most of a good start to the night by hitting our marks. It was definitely a confidence-building run.”
Price kicked off the weekend on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., during the Second Leg of the Northern Tour. He timed in sixth quickest before placing fourth in a heat race to lock into the feature.
“The first night we qualified decent, but didn’t have the greatest heat race,” he said. “In the feature I got up to 11th and faded toward the end so we finished 14th.”
Next up is a weekend Price has had circled on the calendar all year. The World of Outlaws race this Thursday through Saturday at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., during the Sage Fruit Skagit Nationals and next Monday at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash.
“This is home so I want to run good,” he said. “The expectations are high for me. We’ll see at the end of the weekend whether I’m happy or not, but we really want to take a step forward after earning our first top five last weekend.”

Price Guides Sides Motorsports Entry From 19th to 13th During AGCO Jackson Nationals Preliminary Feature
Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (Aug. 22, 2022) – Sides Motorsports driver Robbie Price posted his second-best result of the season last Saturday afternoon during the 44th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals.
Rain cancelled the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event opener on Thursday and postponed Friday’s preliminary night to Saturday afternoon. Price kicked off the action by qualifying 10th quickest in his group and finishing fifth in a heat race to lock into the main event.
He then maneuvered from 19th to 13th in the feature. The half-dozen positions gained were the third most for any driver during the A Main.
“The day show wasn’t too bad,” he said. “The track rubbered up so you just had to get in line. I was good in the rubber coming off turn two. You had to make what you could on restarts. On one I felt like I passed four or five cars and then got in line.”
The nightcap began several hours later with Price timing in eighth quickest out of the 40 drivers. He then finished where he started – seventh – in a heat race to garner the 17th-most combined points. That locked him into the 17th starting position in the main event.
“I felt really good, but everyone was the same pace,” he said. “I should have ran one spot or maybe two spots better in the heat race. There was a restart halfway and I couldn’t get going. That would have started me further up in the feature. Track position was key. The track was a little bit racier, but everyone was the same speed so it was pretty tough to make passes.”
Price was credited with a 17th-place result.
“I think I’m getting a little better,” he said. “I think a lot of it is my starts and restarts. We always have decent speed for who I’m racing around. I need to get up on the wheel, but I felt good both times at Jackson.”
This weekend features World of Outlaws races on Friday at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., for the Second Leg of the Northern Tour and Saturday at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., for the Duel in the Dakotas.
“We’re back on the short track stuff, which is my style,” he said. “The last time we were on a short track we ran good the first half of the night. I’m excited to get back to the stuff I know.”

Sides Motorsports Highlights Knoxville Nationals With 11 th-Place Result During Preliminary Competition
Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 15, 2022) - Oh so close turned out to be the theme of the 61st annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey's for Sides Motorsports.
Tim Kaeding highlighted the week at Knoxville Raceway by posting an 11 th-place finish - tied for the team's best outing of the season - on Thursday during his preliminary night. He then maneuvered from 10 th to sixth in the B Main on Saturday to miss transferring into the A Main by only two positions.
"On Thursday he was coming on good," Sides Motorsports Owner Jason Sides said. "He got to seventh and ran eighth for a while. There was a caution and after that he backed up a few spots. He had to run second to get locked into the feature on Saturday. It's tough these days, especially with how narrow the tracks have been. It's tough to pass. It was a good night overall.
"Then on Saturday in the B Main he got going, but he just needed a caution at the right time. He passed a couple of cars late and we came up just short of making the main event."
Teammate Robbie Price qualified 14th quickest out of more than 50 drivers on Wednesday and he advanced from sixth to fifth place in a heat race to finish one spot out of locking into the main event. However, 17 of the top 20 qualifiers failed to lock in during the heat races so it buried Price in the B Main.
"Robbie was one out of locking in through the heat race and was oh so close," Sides said. "It was tough in that B Main after nobody made it. They lined up the B Main by qualifying times and only two made it out of the heats. Man, that's just tough. We kept trying to get it better. On the Friday night he qualified decent, but was one out of the heat race inversion. He just needs more laps and more Nationals. Overall, he did pretty damn good."
Price placed 14th in the B Main on Wednesday and 16th in the consolation race on Friday. He capped the event by advancing from 12 th to eighth in the D Main on Saturday.
Next up for Price and Sides is the 44th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals this Thursday through Saturday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.
"That's a track similar to Knoxville the way it races and with the dirt," Sides said. "I'd like to see him get a couple of top 10s. He's proved he can qualify. If you get qualified without being inverted and can start toward the front you can run with those guys."

Sides Motorsports Preparing for Two-Car Team at Knoxville Nationals
Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 9, 2022) - The 61 st annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey's is on tap for Sides Motorsports, which will feature a two-car team this week.
Robbie Price competes on Wednesday during the opening preliminary night and Tim Kaeding will be part of Thursday's preliminary action at Knoxville Raceway. The event concludes on Saturday.
"I'm looking forward to being a part of the Knoxville Nationals with Sides Motorsports," Price said. "It'll be good to have two cars running this week and to get to work with TK. We both got a night in on Sunday during the Capitani Classic to be more prepared heading into our prelim nights."
Both drivers made progress at the half-mile oval on Sunday during the 11 th annual Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank. Price timed in 30th quickest in his group before advancing from 10th to eighth in a heat race and from 18th to 16 th in a B Main. Kaeding qualified 22nd quickest in his group. He then rallied from eighth to fourth in a heat race and from 13 th to ninth in a B Main.
Price also competed last weekend at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., during the Ironman 55. He qualified inside the top 10 in his group and placed fourth in a heat race to lock directly into the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series main event each night.
"The track was pretty tricky and we lost some ground in the feature," he said. "Once I got lapped I didn't want to risk tearing up the equipment so I pulled in early. It was similar on Saturday knowing we had a busy weekend with traveling and racing on Sunday at Knoxville. Sometimes it's best to be conservative on your equipment on nights when you aren't moving forward."
Price was credited with a 19th-place result on Friday and a 20 th-place showing on Saturday.

Sides Motorsports Selects Kaeding and Price for Knoxville Nationals
Inside Line Promotions – WEEDSPORT, N.Y. (Aug. 2, 2022) – Sides Motorsports will feature a pair of race cars at Knoxville Raceway next week.
Tim Kaeding is piloting the No. 3tk on Sunday during the 11th annual Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank as well as the following weekend during the 61st annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s.
Robbie Price continues behind the wheel of the No. 7s during the Knoxville Nationals. Plans for the Capitani Classic are up in the air until the team gets through the Ironman 55, which runs this Friday and Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.
“We’re excited to have TK back with us at Knoxville and to have Robbie continue his growth during arguably the sport’s biggest event,” Sides Motorsports Owner Jason Sides said. “Things are getting better. Some of these tracks we race at he hasn’t been to or has only been to one time. I can give him a little better feedback this weekend at Pevely because it’s a track I’ve been comfortable racing.”
Price recorded results of 18th and 17th last weekend during the Empire State Challenge Weekend hosted by Weedsport Speedway.

Price Excited for First Visit to Port Royal and Second Trip to Williams Grove This Week
Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (July 18, 2022) – Robbie Price is bound for Central Pennsylvania this week.
The Sides Motorsports driver will compete on Wednesday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal and Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg during the Champion Racing Oil Summer Nationals.
“The Outlaws go to those tracks quite a bit so you have to be comfortable there,” he said. “I feel we’re getting a little better on the bigger tracks. I’m going into it open minded.”
This will be Price’s first time competing at Port Royal Speedway. He made one appearance at Williams Grove Speedway in 2018 during a 360ci winged sprint car race.
“Hopefully we can unload fast and I can make a good qualifying lap each night,” he said. “The biggest thing is to continue learning. I’ve been learning a lot throughout the last couple of months on the road with the Outlaws.”
Price raced five straight nights in Ohio last week as Attica Raceway Park in Attica hosted the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday before Eldora Speedway featured the Jokers Wild, the Historical Big One, the Knight Before the Kings Royal and the Kings Royal.
“We had a new car so we needed to get a balance going,” he said. “By the fourth night at Eldora I felt pretty comfortable. We’ll carry that into Four Crown when we go back to Eldora in September.”
Price wrapped up the busy week by transferring through the C Main and hustling from 24th to 14th in the B Main during the Kings Royal.

Sides Motorsports Caught Up in Early Crash at Wilmot Raceway
Inside Line Promotions - WILMOT, Wis. (July 11, 2022) - Robbie Price was set up to record a career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result last Saturday at Wilmot Raceway.
Price guided the Sides Motorsports No. 7s to the second quickest qualifying time before he posted a runner-up result in a heat race to advance into the dash.
"When you qualify well the rest of the night is way easier," he said. "We qualified well and we were decent in the heat race."
Unfortunately, Price drew the highest number - eight - during the dash redraw to line up last. He finished in that position to start on the outside of the fourth row in the A Main.
"It was hard to make something happen in the dash," he said. "Then in the main I got caught up in someone's mess. Someone hit the bottom and slid up. He got into Brad Sweet and got sideways. I was right there with nowhere to go and we ended up flipping. We're building a new car for this week."
The DNF marked the only event of the weekend as a race on Friday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, rained out.
The team returns to action with five consecutive nights of racing this week beginning on Tuesday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, for the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic. Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, then welcomes the Outlaws for The Historical Big I and the Kings Royal during a four-day stretch spanning Wednesday through Saturday.
"I'm excited for it, but it's just me and Jay out here so it's going to be a grind," Price said. "I struggled the last time I was at Attica, but that was the first time I was in the car. And I've been to Eldora once. We'll see how it goes. Four nights in a row makes it easier to get better."

Price Produces Career-Best World of Outlaws Result at Cedar Lake Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – NEW RICHMOND, Wis. (July 4, 2022) – Robbie Price earned a career-best World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series result last Saturday during the Independence Day Spectacular.
The Sides Motorsports driver qualified 10th quickest at Cedar Lake Speedway before he finished where he started – fourth – in a heat race. That lined him up on the outside of the fifth row for the A Main.
“We drew early and qualified early, which helped,” Price said. “I felt like I could have ran third in the heat race. In the main event I felt pretty good for the first 10 or 15 laps. Then it seemed every move I made was the wrong one. I’d go low and get passed on the top. I’d go to the top and get passed on the bottom. I just needed to find where I needed to be on the track. I got balled up and tight on a couple of restarts and that really hurt. The last restart I felt decent again and we passed some cars. It was one of those deals we have to put a whole main event together, but we’re chipping away at it.”
Price’s 11th-place outing was also the best run of the season for Sides Motorsports.
The weekend began on Friday at Cedar Lake Speedway, where Price qualified 22nd quickest. He advanced a position in a heat race to finish seventh before overcoming an incident in the Last Chance Showdown that resulted in him spun around. Price rallied from the back to finish sixth in the consolation race, earning a transfer into the rear of the main event. He capped the night by picking up four positions in the feature to finish 20th.
“We buried ourselves a bit and had to run the B Main,” he said. “I got spun around and had to start dead last in the feature instead of a couple of rows further up. Then I got a flat right rear later in the race.”
The team will head to 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, this Friday and to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., for the Badger 40 on Saturday.
“I think I’ve ran three or four 360 races at 34 Raceway,” he said. “I remember I ran fourth there with the ASCS National Tour in 2019. I know how it races and it’s more of a short track, which is what I’m used to. We’ll try to qualify good both nights and set ourselves up for success.”
QUICK RESULTS –

Price Sees Growth Throughout World of Outlaws Week at Huset's Speedway
Inside Line Promotions - BRANDON, S.D. (June 28, 2022) - Robbie Price took the next step forward in his development with Sides Motorsports last week when the team invaded Huset's Speedway for four straight nights of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competition.
Price made each of the four main events, highlighted by a 17th -place result on Saturday during the finale of the inaugural $100,000-to-win Huset's High Bank Nationals.
"Huset's is more what I'm used to and more my style," he said. "I was pretty comfortable there. We made the show all four nights. It would have been nice to skip a couple of the B Mains, but laps are laps. I'm happy with how the weekend went. I need to do a little better in the heat races and then we won't start so far back in the A Mains."
Price qualified ninth quickest in his group on Wednesday during the Ace Ready Mix/Myrl & Roy's presents the World of Outlaws. He then posted second-place qualifying runs in his group on both Thursday and Friday during Huset's High Bank Nationals preliminary nights.
"Qualifying is a big part of the Outlaws format," he said. "If we can qualify well it will really set us up. It's about putting down two decent laps. The Huset's High Bank Nationals format didn't really work well for qualifying good compared to the normal format without heat race inversions, but it was also a good safety net and put me on the front row of the B Main."
The feature showed progress almost every night. Price advanced from 21 st to 18th on Wednesday. He was caught up in an opening-lap crash on Thursday. Friday yielded a 21st-place result before the event concluded with a 17th-place outing on Saturday.
Next up for the team is the Independence Day Spectacular this Friday and Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis.
"I've been to Cedar Lake before so I kinda know what to expect there," Price said. "I think we're better and we have some momentum. Morale is higher. My expectations are the same, but we're starting to gel really good. I'm looking toward to not having to consistently run in the B Mains. That's the next step."

Price Guides Sides Motorsports to Two Top 20s During Debut at Beaver Dam Raceway
Inside Line Promotions - BEAVER DAM, Wis. (June 20, 2022) - Robbie Price posted his second-best result with Sides Motorsports last Friday during the opening night of the Jim "JB" Boyd Memorial.
Price finished 17th in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series main event while making his debut at Beaver Dam Raceway. He recorded a 20th-place result at the track on Saturday.
"I'd say it was a mediocre weekend," he said. "We definitely qualified better. I think we could have been a little better the first night, but we weren't too bad."
Price qualified 15th quickest. A fourth-place finish in a heat race locked him into the 15th starting position in the main event.
"In the A Main the track was locked down and wide open so there wasn't a ton of passing, but I felt comfortable," he said. "The second night we qualified better, but I got a bad start in the heat race and got slid by a couple of guys. I just never got any momentum going. We ran second in the B Main and then in the A Main I wasn't that great. I went a lap down and didn't want to be in the way so I pulled off."
Price timed in 11th quickest on Saturday. A seventh-place outing in a heat race was followed by a runner-up result in the Last Chance Showdown. The night ended with Price finishing where he started - 20 th - in the feature.
"I feel like we're getting better and better," he said. "That's all we can ask for is to try to get better every time we go out."
Price is preparing to make his debut at another track this weekend when Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D., hosts four straight nights of racing. It begins on Wednesday with the Ace Ready Mix/Myrl & Roy's presents the World of Outlaws followed by the Huset's High Bank Nationals, which runs Thursday through Saturday.
"It'll probably help to race at the same track four nights in a row," he said. "From what I've heard Huset's is like some stuff at home. I'm excited to see if it's familiar."

Price Makes Progress With Sides Motorsports During World of Outlaws Weekend at Knoxville
Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 14, 2022) - Sides Motorsports car owner Jason Sides is seeing growth with new driver Robbie Price.
"It's a big learning curve," Sides said. "You are being thrown to the wolves. Every time we've hit the track he is moving forward so that's something to build on."
The team invaded Knoxville Raceway last weekend for the Brownells Big Guns Bash with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. Price qualified 21st quickest in his group and placed third in the non-qualifier race before advancing from 11th to ninth in a heat race and from 14th to 11th in the Last Chance Showdown on Friday.
Saturday featured progress as Price timed in 19th quickest in his group. A ninth-place result in a heat race was followed by a run from 16th to eighth in the Last Chance Showdown. The team elected to use a provisional to start at the back of the main event and Price capitalized by hustling from 25th to 19th - tied for the third-most positions gained.
"Both nights weren't terrible and we made progress," Sides said. "Qualifying is a big thing since he hasn't done it a lot. We just needed laps and took that provisional. If you don't run 25-to-30 laps at a time it's hard to get a grasp on things when you're only running eight-lap or 10-lap heats. We're working at him getting comfortable in the car and it takes time to balance everything just right."
Next up for the team is the Jim "JB" Boyd Memorial this Friday and Saturday at Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, Wis.
"I'd love for us to get qualified well and be in a position for the dash, but right now we're looking to be consistent, get in the show and make some laps," Sides said.

Price Excited to Return to Familiar Track as Sides Motorsports Heads to Knoxville Raceway
Inside Line Promotions - GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 6, 2022) - Robbie Price will get his first taste of a familiar track this weekend when the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series visits Knoxville Raceway.
The dirt oval in Knoxville, Iowa, showcases the Brownells Big Guns Bash on Friday and Saturday.
"It'll be nice that I've actually been somewhere for the first time so far," Price said. "I feel we haven't been that bad going to places I haven't been to. There will be a lot of cars there so it will be a tough weekend, but I'm still excited to get back to somewhere I know I've run semi-decent in the 360 stuff.
"Jay's stuff rolls pretty good there. TK has done well at the Knoxville Nationals. We'll roll to the track, hot lap and adjust from there."
Price has four races under his belt during the last three weekends since taking over the driving duties for Sides Motorsports.
"I think we've been good," he said. "We just need to qualify a little better."
Price qualified 12th quickest last Friday at River Cities Speedway, which hosted the 1st Leg of the Northern Tour. Unfortunately, both the heat race and Last Chance Showdown resulted in a DNF.
"I think we went out for qualifying too early as the track got better," he said. "Then I got a little tight on the start of the heat race and flew off the track. In the LCS I thought we were having some issues so I pulled off. I wanted to be safe than sorry."
That was the conclusion of the weekend as the Ace Ready Mix and Myrl & Roy's presents the World of Outlaws at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D., on Sunday was postponed until June 22 because of rain.

Price Guides Sides Motorsports Into Feature Start at Atomic Speedway
Inside Line Promotions - LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (June 2, 2022) - Robbie Price made his first World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series A Main behind the wheel of the Sides Motorsports No. 7s last Saturday at Atomic Speedway.
Price kicked off the night at the high-banked oval in Chillicothe, Ohio, by qualifying ninth quickest in his group. He then finished where he started - fifth - in a heat race to lock into the main event. Price battled for a top 15 throughout the feature before ending 16th - his best World of Outlaws result since a 13th-place outing last September.
"It's going pretty good," car owner Jason Sides said. "Some of these tracks he hasn't been to is a stepping stone for him. We're trying to get both of us acclimated together to reading the race tracks and making progress from there.
"He qualified pretty good and put himself in a position to get through the heat race. It's all about qualifying. You have to get that set up to where you can race you're way in. Then once you're in the feature you get 30 laps to learn. He was able to do that at Atomic. We did pretty good there."
The holiday weekend concluded on Monday at Lawrenceburg Speedway, where Price timed in 14th quickest in his group. He placed seventh in a heat race and eighth in the Last Chance Showdown.
"He was just as good as the other cars there, but it was all track position," Sides said. "Once it got strung out there it was difficult to pass until the feature. That's where qualifying is so important."
The team is headed to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D., on Friday for the 1st Leg of the Northern Tour and to Huset's Speedway in Brandon, S.D., on Sunday for the Ace Ready Mix and Myrl & Roy's presents the World of Outlaws.
"The tracks this weekend will be maybe more his style with some of the tracks he's raced on," Sides said. "We're looking forward to both of those race tracks. Hopefully we can get qualified well, make the main events and continue to improve together."

Price Logs Valuable Laps During First World of Outlaws Event With Sides Motorsports
Inside Line Promotions - HARTFORD, Ohio (May 24, 2022) - Robbie Price made progress last Friday during his first night inside the cockpit of the Sides Motorsports No. 7s.
Price, who joined the team last week as the full-time driver for the remainder of the season, started the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series program at Attica Raceway Park by qualifying 19 th quickest in his group.
"Hot laps went pretty decent," car owner Jason Sides said. "We were getting ready to qualify and we were in line. There were 30-mile-per-hour winds. The two cars before him went off the track so I told him just don't do that. He stayed on the track for the two qualifying laps, but it was tough circumstances with the wind.
"He passed a couple of cars in the heat race. In the Last Chance Showdown he got up to sixth and on the last lap got into turn one a little too hot and spun it around. He kept it going and ended up ninth. All things considered, with being at Attica and being his first time in the car, it wasn't bad. We just need to make laps."
Sides enjoyed his new role outside of the race car.
"It's a little different, like when I'm watching TK in Knoxville," he said. "Getting acclimated to a different driver and how they like the car, it'll take some getting used to, but I'm okay with it."
Saturday's event at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, rained out.
The team returns to action this Saturday at Atomic Speedway in Waverly, Ohio, for the first World of Outlaws event at the track since 2009.

Sides Motorsports Welcomes Robbie Price as New Driver
Inside Line Promotions - SWEDESBORO, N.J. (May 18, 2022) - Sides Motorsports is pleased to announce that Robbie Price will fill the seat for the remainder of the 2022 season.
Car owner Jason Sides will still travel with the team, serving as the crew chief and a driver coach throughout the remainder of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series schedule. The new pairing will be in action this Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, and Saturday at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio.
"We're excited to have Robbie on board," Sides said. "He's a guy a lot like myself, willing and able to do whatever it takes to get from track to track. He's worked on his racing equipment throughout his career and has had success while competing along the West Coast and in the Midwest."
Price, who hails from Cobble Hill, British Columbia, Canada, is the youngest Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup feature winner in the history of the marquee event hosted by Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash. He conquered it in 2019 at the age of 21-years-old when it was an ASCS National Tour race.
The 2017 Skagit Speedway track champion has earned at least one feature victory during each of the last three seasons and in six of the last seven years.
While Price grew up racing in the Northwest, he's no stranger to competing in the middle of the country. He tackled the ASCS National Tour as a full-time driver in 2019, placing eighth in the championship standings following a pair of triumphs.
"Everybody wants to go Outlaws racing," he said. "I'm excited for the opportunity. I'm going into it with an open mind, but it's hard to have too many expectations until I'm out there. I haven't really raced this year. We've only done two races, which were both last weekend.
"I'm not afraid to work on stuff. Jason obviously knows what he's doing and has been doing it a lot longer. I've been doing it the same way he does; just you and another guy and make it happen."
Tim Shaffer piloted the car last Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Tuesday at Bridgeport Motorsports Park.
"I want to thank Tim for stepping in to drive the last couple of races," Sides said. "Tim is a good friend and it was fun getting to race with him for a couple of nights before we transitioned full time with Robbie behind the wheel."

Shaffer Selected to Pilot Sides Motorsports Entry at Williams Grove and Bridgeport
Inside Line Promotions - BARTLETT, Tenn. (May 10, 2022) - Sides Motorsports is bound for Central Pennsylvania this week for a trio of races with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
Jason Sides will be behind the wheel of the No. 7s on Wednesday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., during the Duramax Drydene Gettysburg Clash before Tim Shaffer takes over on Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., during the Morgan Cup. Shaffer will also drive the car next Tuesday at Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Swedesboro, N.J.
"I'm excited to have Tim driving for us this weekend," Sides said. "I won the King of 360s at East Bay in 2002 and he won the 410 race there the next weekend. I met him a couple of weeks later. Shortly after that we started hanging out and it's been 20 years."
Shaffer has earned a pair of World of Outlaws wins at Williams Grove Speedway - in 2001 and most recently in 2019.
"Tim has driven for us a couple of times and is someone you know will be competitive, but not make bad decisions to tear up the car for no reason," Sides said. "He'll race smart, but if there's a hole he'll go for it."
Sides placed 15th during his most recent visit to Lincoln Speedway in July 2020.

Sides Planning to be Behind the Wheel This Weekend at Eldora Speedway
Inside Line Promotions - BRISTOL, Tenn. (May 4, 2022) - Jason Sides has been busy off the track working through numerous phone calls, emails and text messages that have flooded Sides Motorsports since it was announced last week that Sides is creating an opportunity for another driver to pilot the No. 7s.
For now, the plan is for Sides to race this Friday and Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the #LetsRaceTwo event with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
"The bigger the track the easier it is on the body," he said. "The smaller tracks are more on and off the gas, back and forth, on the brakes hard. On the bigger tracks you get into one big rhythm and it doesn't change every corner."
Sides has enjoyed success at the high-banked oval, where he captured a Kings Royal title in 2004 and the opener of the Four Crown Nationals in 2009.
"We've raced there for a lot of years," he said. "The biggest difference is the banking and all the other improvements they've done there. You can see from the first time we went there to now everything has grown and made it more corporate looking."
Sides is heading from one half-mile track to another after tackling Bristol Motor Speedway last weekend. He was credited with a 20th-place result during both nights of the World of Outlaws Bristol Bash.
"It's not very raceable unless you're out front and it's hard on equipment," he said. "Therefore, we just started and parked all weekend to make the right decision for our team to not put ourselves in a bad position."

Sides Opening Seat of No. 7s for Part-Time or Full-Time World of Outlaws Opportunity
Inside Line Promotions - BARTLETT, Tenn. (April 27, 2022) - The moment of transition has arrived for Jason Sides, who is eyeing a future outside of the race car after decades behind the wheel.
The long-time World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series competitor is opening his seat of the No. 7s for either part-time or full-time options starting next week.
"I'd rather be racing another 10 or 20 years, but my body won't let me," Sides said. "One knee is messed up and a hip is messed up. I can hardly get in and out of the car. I walk around like an old man. I don't like to make excuses, but if this is what getting old is I can't race to the level I want to.
"I've always envisioned being involved in racing long after my days behind the wheel. I think we're in that transition now as we are opening up the seat."
Sides, who is heading to race at the World of Outlaws Bristol Bash this Friday and Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn., has been a veteran racer with the World of Outlaws since winning the Rookie of the Year Award in 2003. He's placed inside the top 10 in the championship standings eight times and has recorded 15 feature triumphs with 'The Greatest Show on Dirt.'
"We have built a team that can travel the country and race with the best," Sides said. "I've enjoyed a lot of success throughout the years and we've had other drivers come in and compete at the top level of the sport, including Tim Kaeding earning a top five at the Knoxville Nationals in back-to-back years. The pieces are in place for success and I intend to be at every event whether I'm racing or we have someone in the car.
"We are fully committed to racing with the World of Outlaws this year. If there are races when we don't have a driver lined up I plan on competing. I'm not retiring nor am I doing a fair well tour. We've just reached the time when I can't race to the level I want to and now we're open to the idea of filling the seat with an up-and-coming driver or a veteran of the sport."

Sides Looking Forward to Only World of Outlaws Event in Home State This Weekend
Inside Line Promotions - HAUBSTADT, Ind. (April 25, 2022) - The lone World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event of the season in the home state for Jason Sides has arrived as Bristol Motor Speedway hosts the World of Outlaws Bristol Bash this weekend.
The paved track known for showcasing a pair of NASCAR events each season has been covered in dirt for the second straight year. While the half-mile oval in Bristol, Tenn., is located in Sides' home state, the journey is 490 miles to the Northeastern corner compared to Sides' shop in the Southwestern part of 'The Volunteer State.'
"There's actually probably a half dozen tracks we'll race at this year that are closer to the shop," he said. "Tennessee is a big state and going from one corner to the other is about eight hours."
Sides ended in the Last Chance Showdown during the opening round of the event last year before placing 23rd in the feature on the final night.
"Volusia on a wet night is faster, but it doesn't smash you into the corner like Bristol," he said. "The seats they have now have you locked in, but you're smashing into the bottom of the seat. You could almost tighten up your belts more is what it feels like when you're going around the turns."
Sides ventured to Tri-State Speedway last Saturday. He qualified 19 th quickest, placed seventh in a heat race and was third in the Last Chance Showdown to transfer into the back of the main event. The night concluded with a 22nd-place result.
Friday's event at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill., rained out.
"We've had quite a few rainouts lately so fingers crossed we can have some dry weather for a while," he said. "It's a lot easier to get into a rhythm in racing when you are out there more often."

Sides Tackling Tri-City Speedway and Tri-State Speedway This Weekend
Inside Line Promotions - PEVELY, Mo. (April 19, 2022) - Jason Sides is bound for Illinois and Indiana this weekend.
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series visits Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill., on Friday and Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., on Saturday.
"We've only been to Tri-City a couple of times since they cut the track down," he said. "I remember I led it the first year after the change (in 2007) until we got a flat. The right rear blew out and that was it."
Sides returned to the track the following season - the most recent World of Outlaws race at Tri-City Speedway - and finished 10th.
He has a lot more experience at Tri-State Speedway, where the Outlaws have visited at least once per season during each of the last 18 years.
Sides competed at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 last Saturday after wet weather washed out Friday's opening round. He timed in 32nd quickest before rallying from eighth to fourth place in a heat race.
"I was in the right place at the right time," he said. "I went to the bottom when a couple of guys were racing up the track and was able to sneak by them. We also avoided some melees out there.
"It was similar in the feature. I was right around the bottom trying to stay out of the way. It was way too rough. I guess they put some new dirt on it and with the water table being so high there they haven't been able to work it a lot. Other guys were running through the ruts, but I just tried to stay out of the way and survive the race."
Sides did just that as he ended 16th and without any damage to his sprint car.

Sides Preparing for Elbows-Up Weekend in Pevely
Inside Line Promotions - ELDON, Mo. (April 12, 2022) - Jason Sides is heading to one of his favorite bullrings this weekend when Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., welcomes the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday.
"I've always enjoyed racing in Pevely," he said. "It can be a track where you pound the outside wall or hug the inside wall. When it's racy like that with multiple lanes it produces great racing. We've had some success there and we're looking for a solid weekend."
Sides won a World of Outlaws feature at the high-banked oval in October 2012 on a night when he ran two features. He was victorious during the make-up program from the spring before running third in the rain-delayed Ironman 55, which had been postponed since August.
"That was a fun night as we were a contender every time we were on the track," he said. "When you've had nights like that at a track it gives you extra confidence whenever you return even if it's been a while since you know you can be successful."
Sides hustled from 24th to 16th on the opening night before placing 10th the ensuing night at the track during this event last year.
Sides competed in the Jason Johnson Classic last Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway. He timed in 11th quickest in his group before finishing where he started - sixth - in a heat race, which was only one position out of locking into the main event. Sides also battled for a transfer spot in the Last Chance Showdown before ending with a DNF.
Last Friday's race at U.S. 36 Raceway near Osborn, Mo., rained out.
"Hopefully this weekend goes a little better with the weather and on the track," Sides said. "The nice thing about racing in Missouri last week and this week is we're close to home."

Sides Nets Top 15 During Debut at Vado Speedway Park
Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (April 4, 2022) - Jason Sides posted his first top 15 of the season last Tuesday during the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series debut at Vado Speedway Park.
Sides qualified seventh quickest and placed fifth in a heat race before ending the night with a 15th-place outing at the track in Vado, N.M.
"It's a beautiful facility," he said. "It was pretty windy all day and night. The track raced a lot like the old Royal Purple race track in Houston. They got it kind of wet because of the winds so the racing groove didn't move up as high as I'm sure they'd like it to, but it was still a pretty good race track. Early it was nice around the bottom. That went away and everybody moved up. It was just a solid night all around."
The team ventured to Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., for a show on Friday, but weather forced the event to be postponed.
The weekend concluded on Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway, which hosted the Duramax Drydene Texas Outlaw Nationals.
Sides timed in 18th quickest, ran sixth in a heat race, finished second in the Last Chance Showdown and ended the feature 22nd.
"The track was so wet all night so it was tough to pass," he said. "We put so much gear to it and kept adding. We put two tires on at the beginning of the night, ran four laps in hot laps, three laps in qualifying counting the slow-down lap. Then we had an eight-lap heat race, a 12-lap B Main and 30 laps in the feature and the tires were still in good condition."
Next up is a pair of races in Missouri this Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway near Osborn and Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon for the Jason Johnson Classic.
QUICK RESULTS -
March 29 - Vado Speedway Park in Vado, N.M. - Qualifying: 7; Heat race: 5 (3); Feature: 15 (13).

Sides Produces Season-Best Result at Perris Auto Speedway
Inside Line Promotions - PERRIS, Calif. (March 29, 2022) - Jason Sides posted his best result of the season last Saturday during the final race of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series spring swing through California.
"The biggest thing was not letting California shut us out as we finally made it into a feature," he quipped. "Without making a show you don't get any laps and you need the laps to get going. It's real valuable because without them you're falling behind everyone who is out there learning throughout the 30 laps of a feature so you can keep improving your car."
Sides qualified 24th quickest before advancing from eighth to seventh in a heat race at Perris Auto Speedway. He placed fourth in the Last Chance Showdown to transfer into the back of the main event. The night concluded with Sides gaining a trio of positions in the feature to end 19 th.
"By getting that one spot in the heat race it helped and started us in a transfer spot in the Last Chance Showdown," he said. "That way you could just race where you were. Then in the feature we were racing with the guys around us. We'd pass a few cars and then lose a couple. One of the restarts didn't go well and then we sputtered on a late restart because we were low on fuel, but it was a fun race to be out there."
It was a step forward to cap a frustrating three weeks in California when qualifying woes buried Sides nearly every night, including last Friday at Bakersfield Speedway in Bakersfield. He timed in 26th and ran ninth in both a heat race and the Last Chance Showdown.
Sides is venturing toward the Midwest this week with a trio of races on deck. He will visit Vado Speedway Park in Vado, N.M., on Tuesday during the first-ever World of Outlaws race at the track. Lawton Speedway in Lawton, Okla., hosts an event on Friday before Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, showcases the Duramax Drydene Texas Outlaw Nationals on Saturday.
"I'm looking forward to it," he said. "I'm excited to see a new track in Vado. Last year we had a decent run at Lawton and I've always liked Devil's Bowl. Hopefully it's a successful week."
Sides battled for a top 10 at both Lawton Speedway and Devil's Bowl Speedway last season before finishing 11th and 13th, respectively.

Sides Eyeing Successful Trip to Bakersfield Speedway and Perris Auto Speedway
Inside Line Promotions - MERCED, Calif. (March 21, 2022) - Jason Sides will wrap up the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series spring swing through California this weekend.
The action begins on Friday at Bakersfield Speedway in Bakersfield before concluding with the SoCal Showdown hosted by Perris Auto Speedway in Perris on Saturday.
"We haven't been to either track in a couple of years so I'm eager to get back to both," he said. "We've had success at both Bakersfield and Perris so that always helps your excitement level when you're returning."
Sides charged from 16th to a career-best ninth-place result at Bakersfield Speedway in 2016. He also recorded top-10 finishes at Perris Auto Speedway from 2015 to 2017 with a career-best result of eighth occurring in 2017.
"The most important thing is to qualify well," he said. "That's an area that we've been struggling with this season and it has really buried us. It's tough to put yourself behind so many good drivers and expect to pass four or five to make a transfer in either a heat race or the Last Chance Showdown. That's the position we've found ourselves in so far this year. It really boils down to doing better in qualifying."
The lone race Sides competed in last weekend was Friday at Merced Speedway, where he timed in 29th quickest before finishing where he started in a heat race - eighth - and the Last Chance Showdown - 10 th.
Saturday's event at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, Calif., rained out.

Sides Excited to Return to Merced Speedway and Ocean Speedway This Weekend
Inside Line Promotions - TULARE, Calif. (March 16, 2022) - A pair of California bullrings are on tap for Jason Sides this weekend.
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series visits Merced Speedway in Merced on Friday and Ocean Speedway in Watsonville for the Ocean Outlaw Showdown on Saturday. It's been approximately eight years since Sides has raced at Merced Speedway.
"It's been several years since we've been there," he said. "I know they've made it a little bigger and we haven't been there since it's been bigger. I only remember being there a few times, but I know we ran third twice."
Sides scored a third-place result during his track debut in 2011 and he duplicated that performance the following season. He's also placed 10 th at the oval in 2013 and 15th during his most recent race in 2014.
Saturday's event at Ocean Speedway will mark the first trip to the track for Sides since 2016 when he ended a career-best 16th.
"Both tracks are pretty small," he said. "It's all about getting qualified, which was what doomed us last weekend."
Sides was unable to attempt qualifying last Friday during the opening round of a doubleheader at Thunderbowl Raceway because of a mechanical problem, which derailed his weekend.
"The first night we broke a crank shaft so that night was shot," he said. "The second night I thought we'd do better. Qualifying fell off. There were some guys around us that still went good though so at the end of the day I needed to do better. Once you're buried in the back of the heat race and Last Chance Showdown like we were both nights it's tough to overcome that."

Sides Heading to California for Three-Week Swing Featuring Five Tracks
Inside Line Promotions - PAIGE, Texas (March 9, 2022) - Jason Sides is venturing to California to spend the next three weeks.
Sides and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series race this Friday and Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare. The following weekend features races at Merced Speedway in Merced and Ocean Speedway in Watsonville before the swing ends with events at Bakersfield Speedway in Bakersfield and Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, marking six races in 'The Golden State' during a 16-day span.
"It's always great to race in California and see a lot of our friends and fans out there," he said. "Two of our partners, King Racing Products and BR Motorsports, are based in California so we always look forward to visiting."
Sides last raced at Thunderbowl Raceway in March 2019.
"That's a track that can be difficult when it gets rough," he said. "We haven't raced there in a while because of the pandemic. Hopefully it will be a smooth surface both nights. The key will be to qualify well and put yourself in a good position every time you hit the track."
Sides competed in Texas last weekend when qualifying hampered him throughout the Texas Two-Step hosted by Cotton Bowl Speedway. He ended up two spots shy of making the main event on Friday and one spot out of the show on Saturday.
"Qualifying is the most critical part of racing anymore and it certainly hurt us last weekend," he said. "With everyone being so even if you are even starting midpack it's tough to move forward. The first night we were in the back all night because of qualifying. On Saturday we timed in a little better, but didn't get a good start to our heat race and that put us behind for the rest of the night. It was one of those weekends you look to move forward from quickly and fortunately we can focus on California the next three weeks."

Sides Heading to Lone Star State for Texas Two-Step
Inside Line Promotions - BARTLETT, Tenn. (March 1, 2022) - Jason Sides is bound for Texas this weekend to compete in the Texas Two-Step at Cotton Bowl Speedway.
The dirt oval in Paige hosts the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday. It marks the first races for Sides in three weeks after last weekend's action rained out.
"You want to race, but when Mother Nature is around she usually wins this time of year," he said. "The last few years it seems like we've raced a little bit, got going and had to stop again. It honestly feels normal."
Sides has competed in four previous World of Outlaws main events at the track, earning career-best 14th-place finishes in 2018 and last year.
"We were there a couple of times and it got rained out," he said. "We went there last year and it seems like they've got the place a little racier. I'm looking forward to going somewhere we've been so you know what you are doing from the start. This kicks off our year before going to California. It's always good to get out there and see everybody. We've done decent there in the past, but it all depends on how the night starts out."
This weekend marks the start of a long road trip for Sides as the World of Outlaws ventures to the West Coast for three straight weeks in California before invading the Midwest.

Sides Optimistic After Incident-Free DIRTcar Nationals
Inside Line Promotions - BARBERVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2022) - Jason Sides deemed the 51st annual DIRTcar Nationals a success.
Although the end result wasn't what he aimed to achieve each night at Volusia Speedway Park, Sides knocked the offseason rust off and was able to avoid a setback similar to what has hampered the start to several of the most recent seasons.
"We got out of there in one piece," he said. "Volusia had three completely different tracks for the three nights we raced and we survived without tearing anything up except tires. We are in good shape. The biggest thing is knocking the rust off. Without getting to run any All Star races and going straight into World of Outlaws action, it was a good weekend for us."
The practice night and the two scheduled FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions races were canceled because of inclement weather, leaving the first three rounds of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series season as the entirety for the DIRTcar Nationals.
Sides recorded his best feature finish of 20th on Thursday before ending 22nd on Friday. He narrowly missed a transfer into the main event and used a provisional on Saturday.
"All three nights were so different," he said. "We had some decent moments here and there. The biggest thing was qualifying on the third night being in the early group, which I thought would be good. Then the track got faster as it rubbered up. As I went down into turns one and two really hard it drifted and slid across. It just killed the tires. The rubber came in and pretty much everyone after us had a quicker time so that buried us. But we got through the weekend without a mechanical problem or a crash, which seems to be our goal after a few rough years there."
Sides will be off this weekend before resuming World of Outlaws competition Feb. 25 at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss., and Feb. 25 at The Rev in Monroe, La.

Sides Venturing to Florida to Open Season at DIRTcar Nationals
Inside Line Promotions - BARTLETT, Tenn. (Jan. 31, 2022) - This season will be much like most of the last two decades for Jason Sides, who returns to full-time competition with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.
Sides has spent nearly all of the last 20 years on tour with 'The Greatest Show on Dirt' and this year is no different with the kickoff set for next week when Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., hosts the 51 st annual DIRTcar Nationals.
The FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions races are Feb. 8-9 followed by three nights with the World of Outlaws. Sides plans to run the first night and if all goes well to take the second night off in preparation for the World of Outlaws season opener.
"I'm excited to get back to racing after enjoying the offseason," Sides said. "You always look forward to the offseason once you get to the fall each year, but then after a week or two of not being on the road you're itching to get back out there."
Sides has produced success at Volusia Speedway Park, where he won in 2011. He has also recorded at least one top 10 during the DIRTcar Nationals in 12 of the last 15 years.
"It's been a feast or famine type of track for us," he said. "We've had some good runs and competed for wins and top fives, but we've also been involved in some wild wrecks and had some unfortunate things happen. You always want to start the season on a positive note. And it can really put you behind if you start it on a bad note so we're hopeful we can be consistently fast and get through the first week of the season with some strong results."
