JASON SIDES DOUBLE DOWNS AGAIN, SETS NEW ONE LAP TRACK RECORD AT HUTCHINSON, KANSAS World Of Outlaws EVENT

Jason Sides double downed again last Friday with the World Of Outlaws, setting his second new one-lap track record of the 2006 season at Hutchinson Speedway and leading all time trial competitors with a single lap time of 14.661 seconds, beating Steve Kinser’s old track record of 15.835 seconds.

“Our Don Ott engine was definitely hitting on all eight,” said Sides.

Sides drove the Sides Motorsports, Don Ott-powered, Wetherington Tractor Service/Mafia Motorsports sponsored MAXIM to an 8th place finish at Hutchinson.

Sides and crew swapped out their Ott 410 and installed his 360 cubic inch engine after Friday’s NST event so they could compete with the American Sprint Car Series Sooner Region at Lanny Edwards’ Lawton, Oklahoma facility.

Sides took the win in the first heat race and survived a wild 30-lap A main to score a close second place finish to winner Sean McClelland over the 37 car field.

Sides’ next World Of Outlaws event will be at Davenport, Iowa on May 2, 2006.
