Landon Crawley got his first go kart at 5 years old. He made a couple of laps and decided it wasn’t for him.
At 7 years old, on a trip with friends he rode a go-kart. He came home and told his dad, 3-time ASCS National Sprint Car Champion, Tim Crawley, that he wanted to race his go-kart. From that time until the present, Landon has unintentionally been on a two-year program moving up the racing ladder.
From ages 7-9 years old, Landon raced go-karts learning the sport and finding his style. At 9, he debuted in the 600cc mini sprint class. With his father racing sprint cars, it made the transition easier as both could race at the same track at many events. After two years in the mini sprint class, Landon showed interest in moving up to the 305 cubic inch full size sprint car. Again, age was a big concern being he was just 12. After reaching out to several track owners, promoters and series and getting the go ahead, Landon debuted in a 305 sprint car in Wichita Falls, TX in May 2020. In his first event, he would find himself in a huge field of over 60 cars and finished 12th in his first feature event. The 2020 season would bring a lot more 305 races as well as his first 360 sprint car race in Monroe, LA. With limited tracks running the 305 class, Landon moved into the 360 full time in 2021. The 2021 season ended with several top 5’s and 10’s as well as a very close 2nd in the American Car Series Mid-South Region points series.
For the 2022 season, Landon, alongside his father, Tim, tackled the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour. Landon finished 8th in points. For 2023, the team will race closer to home and not follow any certain points championships. In 2023, Landon ran a limited schedule close to home and for 2024 has teamed up with Jason Sides Motorsports to run for the 2024 Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year title.
